Fishing vessel ”Yellow Whip” was named champion boat at the SSFF 2nd annual fundraising Bottom fishing tournament held on Saturday July 6th 2013, at Bobby’s Marina.

Laurent Petit and crew aboard ”Yellow Whip” caught an assortment of Roundheads, Snappers, Hines, Butterfish, Old wives and a huge Moonfish, totaling at 103.5 lbs.
Along with the bragging rights, fishing team ‘’Yellow Whip’’ was awarded a fully paid invitation to compete in the 6th annual Budget Marine Wahoo tournament set for November 01s- 3rd later this year.

The second largest catch went to the fishing team aboard “Oli-T’’ , captained by Tini Tinitali totaling 62 lbs. of Snappers, Hines and butterfish.

Third prize winner, was awarded to fishing team ‘’Four Chue’’ who caught the largest bottom fishing species of the day, an 8 lbs Red Snapper.

The jigging category prize, was awarded to longtime fishing friends Roger Petit & Jan Boujuan aboard fishing boat ‘’Marco Polo’’, for catching a 23.4 lbs King Fish.

Among the 10 fishing teams participating, fishermen collectively caught 370 lbs of fish.

After the winners of the tournament were announced, organizers & the fishermen wasted little time in cleaning and frying an estimated 120 lbs of freshly caught fish for everyone on hand, which turned out to be a very delightful Saturday afternoon at the docks.
